FIRSTLY my apologies for a complete lack of blog posts…

What with nursing Millie the Goldendoodle…

And raising 9 practically orphaned little Goldendoodle puppies…

Things have been you might say a little “busy” lol…

And more than a little chaotic – with a semblance of order – mostly ha ha…

Millie was due at the vets for her operation on Tuesday morning…

Sadly she still had too much milk and this was postponed until Thursday…

This of course means even longer away from her babies…

However she sailed through the operation…

The vet had to make the hole larger in order to join together the wound…

She came home groggy but waggy tailed late evening…

The veterinary nurses really didn’t want her to leave – they adore her lol…

She’s a little woozy now – still on strong painkillers – tablets to dry her milk up and antibiotics…

It will be some time yet before she is well enough to see her puppies…

She still cries when she hears them and is pretty depressed if truth be told…

Time is a great healer and we’re all sad she’s missed so much and been in so much pain and discomfort…

But she really is a great dog – a bloody superstar and we love her dearly…

OK to the little Goldendoodle Puppy tribe – the ‘Doodle puppies are doing extremely well…

We are talking an amazing growth spurt in the last week…

They are now more adventurous – sleep less during the day and play with a lot more energy (lol)…

(those teeth are sharp be warned !!!)

They are absolutely eating us out of house and home at the moment lol…

I seem to be at PETS AT HOME daily…

Pity they didn’t have a loyalty card – I’d be quids in ha ha…

Millie’s Dad says they must be crossed with Donkeys judging by the size of their poo’s lol…

They seem to play fight constantly and the pecking order changes by the minute !!!

Of them all tiny little Pinky – now Tillly – is by far the roughest lol…

She has to be I guess being so tiny compared to the others…

Lulu (White) and little Lilly (Yellow) are not far behind…

Meanwhile the big lads Max and Murphy (Blue and Aqua) are facing “Girl Power” lol…

Our old fave Digby (Orange) has over gone a complete sea change…

We haven’t heard him squawk for an age – but man does he like the girls !!!

He always seems to be snuggling up to Cookie (Purple) and Molly (Red)…

Those two girls are growing into beautiful looking ‘Doodles – Molly is now a little fusspot !!!

Boy does she come running for the cuddles !!!

Mazsola (Lilac) is the most daring – she is fearless !!!

Whatever happens or is introduced into the puppy pad – she’s in first…

She races around the room yapping and crashing into things…

Mostly other ‘Doodles lol…

They really are a fantastic litter of puppies…

And they really have decided we are mom and dad doodle lol…

It’s amazing to see them come running like a little herd of geese circling us until the food is put down…

And I’m very pleased at how sensible they are at meal times…

There’s hardly any squabbling – the odd little accident – but they have very good manners for almost 5 week old pups…

They are still on four meals of puppy kibble (Science Plan) per day – and a few Lactol (milk substitute) breaks…

That still remains the highlight of their day !!!

Feeding times are around midnight (milk) 4am (kibble) 8am (kibble) 11am (milk)…

3pm (kibble) 8pm (milky kibble) with water in between…

Those are approximate times and it does vary lol…

We are in and out of their room regularly clearing up great piles and puddles lol…

So as you can see it’s pretty much round the clock stuff lol…

Hard but about as rewarding as it can get !!!

Our neighbours have been fantastic and the whole street brings us newspapers…

And of course get to cuddle the little ‘doodles – one way to meet the neighbours ha ha…

As the ‘doods have gotten bigger we’ve had them loose in the garden – MADNESS !!!

(the vet said it would be fine in the shade)

Whilst cleaning their room we pop them into the puppy pen on the lawn…

They are not too happy about the pen – and tend to squawk the place down lol…

However once we open the little gate they charge out and chase each other and us around the lawn…

It’s just so cute – and total mayhem – we will video it this weekend I promise…

And I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind messages and calls about Millie…

She’s gone through hell bless her heart…

She was an absolutely fantastic mom to those little guys when she was able…

I truly hope we have done her proud…

WOW !!!

What a hectic but wonderful weekend that was !!!

It was “choose your puppy time” – and how difficult you all found it…

However thanks to the blog most of you had your minds made up all ready…

We had a good idea which pups would go to which family…

Maybe there was a couple of surprises – but I hope you are all more than happy !!!

And looking forward to wonderful years ahead with your very own Goldendoodle…

As I’ve said so often – they are incredible dogs…

Funny – smart and faithful as the day is long…

And boy do they stand out in a crowd !!!

Be prepared to be stopped everywhere and asked “he/she’s gorgeous – what is he/she..? ”

When Millie and me go out I set aside an extra half an hour for people lol…

OK before I name the names – I’ll give you a quick update on Millie…

We have had to keep her away from her babies (heartbreaking) due to her open wound…

The vet was able to snip a piece off and the wound is now clean and pink…

We have had to bathe it three or four times per day – Millie has been amazing…

She’s still on the antibiotics and returns to the vet on Tuesday for corrective surgery…

I really don’t know how much more of this our little girl can take…

But like the vet has said – she’s an A1 dog and will surely shine through it all…

Lets hope so…



ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY – MILLIE THE FIRST ‘DOODLE IN SPACE ??!!!??

So to this weekend and what a wonderful weekend it was…

The first families really wanted to be here at the crack of dawn on Saturday…

However we had pressing issues with Millie – so 11am was better lol…

First little girl family arrived and faced a dilemma – was it to be Red or Purple…

However it was little Yellow and Pink who pranced and danced wriggled and woo’ed them lol…

But despite their antics their hearts were drawn towards Red and Purple…

After much debate and heart searching it was indeed Red or should I say MOLLY who was chosen…

I couldn’t have chosen between those two beauties !!!

It was one happy couple who left us thinking all things ‘Doodle…

The next family arrived during first choice and sat outside catching glimpses of their boy through the window…

They had indeed made their minds up totally and had even brought an Aqua coloured lead and collar lol…

It was fantastic to see them meet MURPHY…

“He’s the laid back fat lad I expected…” said mum…

Well yes – he ahem was lol…

This last 24 hours has seen a slight change in our laid back lad…

He’s becoming very assertive and more than a little inquisitive lol…



MURPHY THE PHANTOM BAG SNATCHER


He’s going to be an absolute cracker…

A big gentle cuddly bear of a dog with more than an ounce of cheek !!!

The family who had reserved the second boy couldn’t make it…

But a phone call was greeted with joy as they proudly named Blue pup MAX !!!

That’s my son’s name too lol – and they have the same tinge of hair colour ha ha…

He too is a big boy and in the middle of all the mischief…

That meant the last boy was yeah you guessed it Orange…

I may have given the little chap a bad press (definitely lol) but he is quite bonkers lol…

However he too has changed a little over the past few days…

Sure he’s a noisy ‘dood at the very heart of all the anarchy and mischief…

But boy does he love a real cuddle and tummy tickle lol – big soppy ‘dood really…

I know the dad of the family wanted a big dog – and you got it – just look at his feet !!!

He is going to be one beautiful big Goldendoodle who’s going to the perfect family…

And the bonkers boy’s name..?

What else for the biggest personality of the bunch than DIGBY…

Cool – cute and very very apt…

Anyone remember the film..?



DIGBY THE ‘DOODLE – A QUIET MOMENT (LOL)

That brought Saturday to a close – and our pups were quite exhausted…

Sunday was an all girls day with the first family finding it really hard to choose…

For a long time it looked like Lilac was the choice…

But after heart searching Purple was proudly named COOKIE…

A sweet name for a very sweet little girl…

She really is a stunner and a delightful mix of feisty and cuddly…



COOKIE SOON TO BE THE LADY OF THE MANOR LOL

She really is going to live in the lap of luxury with a wonderful family…

Heated swimming pool anyone lol…

If ever you want a dog sitter we are available ha ha…

And thank you so much for the Orchid and wine…

I shall save the wine for a “quiet night” if we ever get one again lol…

If family number one found the choice hard family number two really did struggle (who can blame them)…

Again Lilac was the first choice with mum and daughter absolutely adoring her…

However little White was always trotting over to them…

And she became really playful making the little girl squeal with delight…

“But I like Pinky too” she said…

“Can we have two” said mum ha ha…

In the end White – or should I now say LULU was the chosen one…



TWO LITTLE CUTIES WHO BONDED IMMEDIATELY

They have a another slightly older dog and said LULU’s fesity-ness was the clincher…

She is going to have such a wonderful home and be a much loved little ‘doodle…

Unbelievably – and how different from Saturday when they all seemed to sleep during the choosing …

On Sunday they were all up and about and being almost boisterous – more like they are at 3am !!!!!!!!!!

So showing no signs of tiredness the remaining three pups waited for the final two visitors…

A family from Wales arrived and absolutely fell head over heels in love with Millie…

Despite her nasty wound Millie was absolutely charming and almost ate the treats they’d bought her lol…

(her appetite is a little jaded at the moment)

Once again Lilac was the immediate choice – however Yellow and Pink “did the girl band act” and stole the show…

After yet more heart rendering decisions it was Yellow who was the chosen one…

And at the time of writing she’s still “YELLOW” lol…

“We’re terrible at names ” said mum ” we have a cat called Boy…”

As soon as we know we’ll post it lol…

They live not very far from our favourite camp site…

So I’m pretty sure we’ll meet up over the coming years…

And so to our last visitors of the day…

By this stage Millie’s dad was in a bit of a grump…

I asked why and he shrugged and said ” No one wants Liley…”

Lilac (Liley to him lol) has been his favourite for an age…

The two of them have a lovely bond – bless him lol…

I didn’t know what to say…



MASOLA THE GOLDENDOODLE FORMERLY KNOWN AS LILAC

Our final family were a lovely couple who came all the way from Liverpool…

They’d had a wonderful Golden Retriever who’d given them years of joy…

They felt after her another Retriever would never quite match up…

But a Goldendoodle sounded perfect…

On hearing that – it was no surprise to us that Pink – or should I say TILLY was chosen…

Of all the puppies she’s definitely the most Goldie…

And the name chosen for her is truly lovely and very special to us…

It’s Millie’s Dad’s maternal grandmothers nickname…

TILLY is going to have an amazing life with a truly kind caring and very loving family…

Before Millie’s dad could say “can we keep her…” I was on the phone to the final reserved girl family…

“You have Lilac” I said – and I was delighted to hear them cheer…

Their children in particular fired off a long list of questions…

And yes she really can run fast especially when it’s dinner time !!!

Even Millie’s Dad was pleased if a little sad he couldn’t keep her…

Funny that given all along he’s said no to keeping one lol…

A little while later they emailed with her name…

“MASOLA” they said – “it’s Hungarian for little raisin…”

What a truly beautiful name for a truly beautiful little Goldendoodle…

Of them all she’s the most “doodly” if there is such a word…

Phew!!!

6 LITTLE GOLDENDOODLES WINDING DOWN AT THE END OF A HARD DAY
the other three were fast asleep !!!

Nine little puppies and nine expectant and I hope happy and proud families…

It’s only four weeks until the big collection day…

And given how this first month has flown by…

I’m pretty sure it will be gone in the blink of an eye…

But these are extremely important times for little puppies…

From 4 weeks old mum would begin socializing them…

Showing them right from wrong and teaching them to be dogs…

With Millie absent it’s up to us to do that…

Daunting and a lot of hard work but we owe it to you and more importantly Millie…

To produce well mannered well balanced little ‘doodles…

I however draw the line at licking their faces and backs whilst on all fours…

“I just want to give them the experience of a mom cleaning them ” says my mad as a hatter partner…

Me I’ll just stick to top and tailing with a warm flannel at the end of their day…

That’s about as cute as it gets…

Umm did I say “end of their day..?”

Silly me – each three or four hours seems to roll into one lol…

It’s rewarding but tough and thanks to those of you saying how “worn out” we looked lol…

A nice way of saying we looked like hell and smelled of puppy piddle poo and formula ha ha…

OK I hear the pitter patter of tiny feet…

I shall no doubt be faced with huge puppy piles and puddles everywhere…

A tiny hole had formed – the area around it black bruised and leaking fluid…

She was so very brave the vet was able to flush most of the infection out without anaesthetic…

However it was so deep rooted – despite her being full of antibiotics – he had to sedate her…

He called her “an A1 dog…” saying any other dog would have at least snarled as he squeezed…

It was a very anxious wait but three hours later I got the call to collect her…

As you can see she’s in a woeful state – very very distressed at not being able to see her babies…

We have to continue with the antibiotics and also strong pain killers…

So thank God Millie is not in any pain…

All we can do now is separate her from the litter – keep her calm and the wound clean…

The urge to go see the litter is so very strong and it’s heart breaking to hear her cry…

It wouldn’t be called tough love unless that’s exactly what it was…

The pups have cried once or twice as she’s walked past the door…

But in all honesty they are doing more than fine without her…

Myself and Millie’s dad are the surrogate “parents” and puppies now recognize that…

She’s going back to the wonderful vet on Saturday morning – we’ll know more then…

I have beaten myself up with worry and blame…

Could I have done this – should I have done that…

But the vet has assured me we have gone beyond and above the call of care and duty…

“I have had to research this…” he said yesterday evening…

“And have to say it’s incredibly rare for this to happen – you have done all and more than required…”

Small solace – but I want to thank him for that…

His partner had helped him with the full flush of the wound…

As we were leaving he said brightly – “We have a problem child on our hands !!!”

Indeed we do – poor little Millie…



THE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES SLEEPING OFF A MEAL

OK let’s talk about the 9 bundles of joy – the gorgeous Goldendoodle puppies…

Thankfully we had begun the weaning process before the drama began…

I’m proud and pleased to say they are now 99.9% weaned…

They are eating kibble mixed in a blender with substitute mothers milk…

We began with it quite sloppy – the consistency of a yoghurt…

By late afternoon the consistency became that of humus…

They absolutely wolfed that down – AND began lapping water !!!

Taking to water so well and so early has made me VERY proud…

The vet suggested a separate bowl of Lactol – which we were doing anyway…

The pups absolutely love this and I guess see it as “pudding ” !!!

Given we are now their primary carers if they weren’t “human friendly” before – which they were lol…

They are now absolutely 100% accepting of the human touch…

A friend of ours noted this last week…

She got her dog from a “proper breeder”…

Obviously human contact had been the bare minimum…

Not our little ‘doodles !!!

They see us and come running – lots of squeals of delight and licking sucking and play fighting !!!

They really are little treasures and so sweet funny and each with individual characters…

ORANGE – little boy – very vocal and funny as hell – he’s nuts (lol) and loves a cuddle…

BLUE – little boy – laid back very wriggly – loves tummy tickles and is in the middle of all the mischief…

AQUA – little boy – about as laid back as they come – if he could speak his first words would be “Peace Man” lol…

RED – little girl – probable litter leader – she’s beautiful stunning was a little aloof now comes running for fuss and cuddles…

PINK – little girl – sweet like a little fluffy porcelain doll very gentle but bright as a button – the first to lap and grasp solids…

LILAC – little girl – a big fluffy bundle of puppy gorgeousness lol – our little “baby owl”…

PURPLE – little girl – another absolute stunner – likes to find quiet corners and hidey holes to sleep off her meals…

YELLOW – little girl – simply gorgeous – just wants to cuddle (all day lol) – play and lick your face off !!!

WHITE – little girl – very pretty very affectionate and another one you could cuddle all day – fights the boys OFTEN !!!

I know most of you on the puppy list are coming this weekend to make your choices…

And trust me I know how hard it’s going to be they really are all absolutely fab little dogs…

I can’t wait to see you all and begin giving them proper names !!!

So far I know we have a Digby – Lulu and a Tilly – but which one will get the name..?

First off sorry for the delay in this particular blog post…

Thank BT for that – 2010 and we still have rubbish internet connection and speeds…

Hope those of you on the puppy list got my email explaining the reason…

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the ‘doods – far from it…

They are all absolutely thriving and growing at an alarming rate of knots ha ha…

And as you can see from the video – they’re ready for weaning !!!

But more on that later…



PUPPY LITTER LEADER RED LOOKING ABSOLUTELY STUNNING


OK Sunday evening we got every single one of them out of the whelping box…

It was absolute chaos – and Millie’s face was a picture…

One of concern bordering on sheer terror lol…

So many bottoms and faces to lick where to start ha ha…

She eventually relaxed and really seemed to enjoy them all rushing about yapping and growling…



FOOTLOOSE AND FANCY FREE THE ‘DOODLES GO WILD




FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD LILAC FINDS A QUIET SPOT TO SNOOZE




‘DOODLE PUPS EVERYWHERE !!!


On Monday all the puppies fed so well from both Millie and the syringe we felt it was time…

We brought out a small dessert dish and filled it with milk substitute (Lactol Gold)…

Rather than a mad scramble and all the mess that entailed – we introduced Pinky and Lilac (collars lol)…

They are probably the “nicest feeders” lol…

GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES LAPPING THEIR FIRST BOWL OF SUBSTITUTE MILK


With just the bare minimum introduction the little darlings soon got the hang of it…

So much so that Pinky guzzled until she promptly fell asleep head first !!!

Millie was in like a shot licking all the yummy goo of her face lol…

With that we got a much bigger bowl and introduced the litter – as you can see from the first video…

Some got the hang of it far quicker than the others…

Red for instance – goes for a paddle before realizing what was on offer lol…

I’m pleased to say they are all now lapping like pros and tomorrow we shall be introducing “puppy gruel”…

We aren’t talking Oliver “can I have more please ” lol…

Rather we shall be mixing kibble (Science Plan puppy) with substitute milk formula…

Mixing it to the consistency of gruel and standing well back ha ha…

I’m sure the ensuing chaos will be memorable – thank God for hard floors – stay tuned !!!



THE ‘DOODS HELP MILLIE CLEAN THE BOWL AND JUG


Millie was delighted to see her “other mom” Lynne yesterday…

Lynne is Millie’s best friend Biddy’s mom…

Millie absolutely covered her in kisses and Lynne was a great help cleaning up puppy piddle !!!

I know those of you on the puppy list are all arriving this weekend…

And I’m sure you are more than excited !!!

The good news is the dining room is ready for them to move into…



MILLIE CHECKS OUT THE NEW ‘DOODLE PUPPY PAD

They will now have so much more freedom and if the weather is suitable will be able to play on the lawn…

So until tomorrow – the internet connection willing lol…

I’ll leave you with the latest photos…

I have been trying to upload more movies to You Tube – MILLIE’S CHANNEL…

But with the connection being up and down or out – it’s taking time…

Hopefully the large video will be ready to go soon lol…

And speaking of videos – we’re half way through individual cameos of the ‘doods !!!

THE puppies are growing so very fast and so are their appetites…

Millie can no longer just operate a “splash and dash” feeding regime…

She’s still being amazing and feeding them all regularly…

And we are helping by bringing her three at a time on a mat in the lounge…

She and indeed they like this attention and all the pups get a good feed…

But they are hungry demanding puppies and they need to feed almost 50% of the time…

So it might be a little early in regards to the puppy rule book (lol)…

But we have gradually begun the first steps towards weaning…

Not I hasten to add with anything other than mom’s milk substitute – Lactol Gold…

I made the first batch and tried to feed using a small tiny baby bottle…

But they were having none of it lol…

Switching to a syringe ( no needle ha ha) has had the desired effect…



LAPPING INSTINCTS HAVE TRULY KICKED IN NOW

And the little Goldendoodle puppies are taking at least 5 ml a feed !!!

It’s doing them the power of good – giving Millie a rest – and I love it…

There’s something quite magical about hand feeding a little puppy…

Their lapping instincts have really kicked in now…

I fill the syringe to 5 ml and gently drizzle onto their tongues…

They fix on and begin lapping – “Pinky” was the first and she does it quite beautifully…

Once they are full each pup is given to Millie who gives them a long top and tail…

Before they flop back into the nest and sleep it off…

Millie is always close by keeping an eye on the activities – and also waiting to empty the jug !!!



“WHITEY” SUCKLES THE SYRINGE WHILST MILLIE FEEDS THE ‘DOODLES


As you can see form the first video – they are all in good voice…

Whitey and Orange puppy have become the most vocal…

In full flow Orange pup sounds like an exotic bird or monkey lol…

We have been asked a couple of times for individual photos of the pups…

I can honestly say we are working on it – but they never seem to stand still for a minute lol…

We have some – but I think it might be best to do a short movie of them wandering around…

I got the idea after the stunning Red Puppy went for an explore…

I’m back at work on Monday (long day aaargh) so I’ll leave it to Millie’s Dad…

We had visitors here yesterday…

A mum and daughter who are on the puppy list visited to catch a glimpse of the babies…

As you would expect they absolutely loved playing with them…

They return along with the rest of the families next weekend to make final puppy choices…

They are going to have an almost impossible job – they are all GORGEOUS !!!

This has been an absolutely amazing experience…

The hard work and lack of sleep is more than worth it…

It seems each minute the puppies develop and something new happens…

We are absolutely loving it…

Involving a puppy revolt and worming lol…

Ok if you’re sitting comfortably I’ll begin lol…

I arrived home from work mid morning eager to see Millie and the pups…

As I walked into the lounge I saw Millie lying on the floor panting heavily…

Next to her covered in sweat and very dishevelled was her dad…

For a split second I thought something terrible had happened…

But no…

Lilac Puppy had decided to become head of the “Puppy Power Mafia”…



LILAC PUPPY PLOTS HER NEXT MOVE

At least that’s how Millie’s dad described it lol…

OK here’s how the story goes…

The routine after I leave for work is the whelping box is thoroughly cleaned out…

First the pups are popped into a laundry basket – giving Millie time to give them all a good clean…

The box is swept and cleaned with fresh bedding and then the cuddly toys added…

Once the pups are popped back into the box Millie goes in to rearrange everything to her liking…

She gives the Goldendoodle puppies a quick feed – or a splash and dash as we call it lol…

They then settle down for a good hours sleep – having been fed pretty much right through from 3am…

Millie will then eat a hearty breakfast before settling down for a well earned sleep…

However this particular morning Lilac Puppy was having none of it…

She had squawked whilst in the laundry basket – which is not unusual for any of them…

However once Millie had sorted them all out and the 8 puppies were sleeping…

Lilac Pup turned into rabble rouser…

She had walked up to each group of pups squawked loudly in their face before standing on them…

Once that group was awake and squealing through tiredness – she’d move onto the next…



ORANGE PUPPY MAKES A BRAVE BID FOR FREEDOM

Despite Millie’s and my partners best efforts – this went on for a good 2 hours…

With the decibel levels rising – considerably…

Removing Lilac Pup and placing her on a soft vets bed with Millie was the obvious ploy…

However – each time she fell asleep at the nipple and was placed back in the box – it began again…

After numerous attempts at calming them Millie and her dad left them to get on with it by going into the garden…

No joy lol – within 10 minutes the noise was deafening and Millie had raced back inside frantic…

You guessed it Lilac Pup had decided if she wasn’t getting her “Puppy Rights…” then it was a “dirty protest…”

8 beautiful sleepy yawning Goldendoodle puppies covered once again in gooey puppy poop…

Luckily (lol) Millie’s dad has experienced this before so the two of them set about cleaning up the mess…

Lilac Pup was the only one not touched by the goop ha ha…

Once all back in the box and settled Millie’s dad cuddled Lilac Whine (as he has now called her lol)…

Until she slept like a baby…

On my return they were all sleeping peacefully out for the count …

My timing is and has been immaculate – I miss all the action ha ha…



THE ‘DOODLE TRIBE GATHERS STRENGTH FOR THE NEXT REVOLUTION

Funnily enough I watched quietly this morning as Millie’s dad fussed over them…

Little Lilac Pup was the first to stumble over to sniff his fingers before licking his arm gently…

I think they’re big friends really ha ha…

On asking him if he had taken any photos or footage of the chaos – he just gave me a wry smile…

I guess the answer’s no ha ha…

OK back to the real ‘Doodle world…

Millie had her final check up at the vets yesterday…

The mastitis is pretty much cleared up and he’s very pleased with her progress…

She has also gained weight – which is fantastic news given the amount of energy she’s expelling…

RAISING A LITTER OF GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES IS A TIRING BUSINESS

We’re feeding her on high protein puppy food and goats milk (watered down)…

With boiled fresh mince or chicken breast and scrambled eggs…

We also put a couple of spoons of glucose in her water…

Nice diet ha ha…

Whilst at the vet I also picked up the puppies worming medication…

I arrived back with the syringes of worm medicine and asked Millie’s dad to help…

He held the pups as I squirted the medicine into their mouths…



WORMING THE PUPPIES – MUCH EASIER WHEN THEY’RE ASLEEP !!!

Yes you guessed it – after a day covered in puppy poo and wee…

His day ended covered head to toe in worm medicine…

Topped off of course with the odd dribble of puppy piddle lol…

None of the pups seemed any worse for wear from their dose…

And this morning I was able to administer the medicine single handedly – that’s a woman for you !!!

The pups take the meds for three days and they all have little booklets in which I have recorded it…

I have the morning off so my partner was able to have a bit of a lie in…

I have absolutely adored this precious time with my Millie and the pups…

Watching them feed be cleaned and play has been an absolute joy…

It is going to be a terrible wrench when we have to say goodbye…

But hey that’s a long way away yet – and I really must enjoy the moment…

The new puppy pen arrives today – hopefully – so that’s my plan this morning…

Thanks again for all your emails phone calls and messages – I love hearing from you all…

PRESENTING DOODLE DOG PHOTOS – UPLOAD AND SHARE YOUR PUPPY AND DOG PHOTOS

But I can’t tell you how much I missed my Millie and her baby ‘doodles…

And yes they have indeed become real little dogs !!!

Their little yaps growls and cute barks are wonderful – if a little noisy !!!

HOW MY LITTLE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES HAVE GROWN

The puppy whelping box they’re in is now getting a little small – despite it being XXL…

So yesterday we ordered a proper puppy pen – it will give them much more space…

And we shall be able to take it onto the lawn when they get a little older…

I’d made my mind up that on my return I’d give Millie the Goldendoodle a real good groom…

And that’s exactly what I did – with the help of her dad as she was having none of it lol…

But trust me two weeks after giving birth she really did need it…

She was reluctant to get into the shower at first – but once in she really enjoyed it…

It was a gorgeous sunny warm day – so I was able to dry her off outside…

(the puppies had just been fed and were sleeping it off)

MILLIE HAS ALWAYS LOVED BEING TOWEL DRIED


Once she was partly dry I brought her into the lounge and began hunting for knots…

I can assure you there were very many of them…

And it took the razor comb – anti tangle spray and baby scissors to get 99.9% of them out…

SPECIAL ATTENTION TO MILLIE’S UNDERCARRIAGE

I basically give her a towel dry then brush hard against the coat…

As and when I find tangles I try to comb them out – if that doesn’t work I use the razor comb…

And – as happened on this occasion – if that doesn’t work I use baby scissors lol…

Once she’s relatively tangle free I get out the hair dryer…

MILLIE NOW ADORES THE HAIR DRYER AND FINDS IT RELAXING


It has taken a long time getting Millie to trust this…

But now she adores it and will stand or in this case lie quite happily…

Millie really enjoyed the close attention – but every now and then she would break away to check her pups…

At one point she gave them a quick splash and dash as my partner calls it – that’s a quick feed ha ha…

They then slept soundly warm from the sunshine pouring in through the window…

The whole grooming session took me about three hours – which is much longer than normal…

But honestly Millie really did need such attention- she was a state lol…

And of course there was the frequent puppy breaks…

When I finished I have to say she looked amazing…



MILLIE LOOKING GORGEOUS AFTER A LONG GROOMING SESSION


I used a mild puppy shampoo with no scent as I didn’t want the pups confused…

I was curious to see how they’d react when mom went back into the box…

They woke bleary eyed and stretched and yawned and began sniffing around…

There was a slight pause as their little noses got accustomed to the clean fresh Millie…

And then the cacophony began – wow these little ‘doodles can make a racket !!!

And as you can see from the video below – they suckled quite beautifully…



OK it’s back to work with a bump for me today…

The ‘doodles safe under the care of Millie’s dad – who works from home lucky beggar lol…

But trust me I shall be popping back (and so will my secretary ha ha) at every opportunity…
