GOLDENDOODLE PUPPY OR MEERKAT HA HA
JUDGING from the number of emails I received yesterday…
I’ve managed to turn you all into ‘doodle puppy photo addicts !!!
Trust me I really do know that feeling – I need my daily fix too !!!
KATE ~ MILLIE AND THE GORGEOUS GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
My apologies for not making a daily post…
It was frantic here yesterday – the puppies and Millie are more than fine – more to do with me…
I have a big family wedding in Scotland over the weekend…Congrats Leanne !!!
And a girl needs to look her best – so it was hairdresser and beauty salon for me !!!
Boy did I need it after 12 days of the puppy ‘doodle invasion haha…
I tried to coax Millie into the shower – but she was having none of it…
After giving birth and caring for 9 ‘doodles she really does need it…if you catch my drift lol…
But she refused and I didn’t want to stress her…
Millie’s dad is staying behind to look after them so in between football they’ll be well looked after lol…
“WHITEY” SUCKLES ON MILLIE’S DADS BOTTOM LIP HA HA!!!
With Millie spending more time out of the doodle pup “nest”…
I decided to buy a pile of cuddly toys to give them other things to snuggle up to…
I was thrilled to see them wake and start sniffing and investigating the new members of their nest !!!
They have taken to them immediately – especially Millie’s cuddly fish which they all love to cuddle up too…
GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES AND SOFT CUDDLY TOYS
Millie however had other ideas…
Once she woke from her afternoon nap she climbed into the whelping box…
It was a classic double take as she saw her litter had “doubled”…
The look on her face was one of confusion and then joy as she saw they were toys…
Millie has always been a great organiser of her toys – each one has a special place in the house…
(we have found her toys in all sorts of strange places – we move them she puts them back)
So once she had fed her pups – each toy was taken out of the box and deposited in her special places…
We need her to play with them so the pups get her scent…
I’m pleased to say she has now let the toys stay and the puppies love them…
“PATCH” CUDDLES UP TO THE CUDDLY TOYS
Each pup will of course be taking one with them when they leave…
Which gave me an idea lol…
When Millie arrived with us at just 8 weeks old she too brought a toy with her…
It was full of the smell of Bess her lovely Golden Retriever mum…
To this day it’s Millie’s special toy and is always near by…
So here’s three photos of Millie – the first when she was born…
The second when she arrived in our home with her special cuddly toy…
And Millie now with that same toy – oh boy has she grown !!!

ONE WEEK OLD AND GROWING FAST – MILLIE’S LITTLER OF GOLDENDOODLE PUPS
I CAN hardly believe it’s been a whole week since Millie gave birth…
My how time flies when your house is full of baby doodles !!!
All have almost doubled their body weight with a couple a little more than that…
I am thrilled with their progress and Millie is enjoying a little more time away from the nest…
She’s positioning herself in an alcove in the lounge – she can see them and responds immediately if needed…
MILLIE CATCHING UP ON HER SLEEP – THE YELLOW YOU SEE IS “NIPPLE CREAM” LOL
Bless her she’s always been a sleepy dog…
But for the first 5 days I think she managed the odd cat nap – with one undisturbed 3/4 of an hour !!!
She’s next to me now snoring the sleep only us new moms know ha ha…
Come to that so are the puppies – 10% of the time feeding 90% sleeping…
SLEEPY CUTE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
I had to work all day yesterday and my partner took over the care…
Oh boy did I miss the little pups and of course Millie…
It’s truly amazing how quickly you bond with the litter…
They are adorable and as I said yesterday their personalities are beginning to shine through…
It seems that yesterday they all found their voices – and at times the noise was deafening lol…
It was also very chilly here and on my return the house was as warm as toast…
Not only that but the puppies were snuggled up to a child safe hot water bottle wrapped in a blanket…
The hot water bottle cover is covered in Millie’s smell and hair…
I’m pretty sure that gives the little doods much comfort…
On my return Millie woke them up and the noise was amazing – it can only get louder as they grow ha ha…
However for the little yellow pup (as in collar lol) – it was far to snug to move…
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz SNUG AND WARM ON A HOT WATER BOTTLE
OK I have to shoot off to work…
I have a phone full of photos and movies for the staff to see…
They are all doing amazingly well – and Millie’s sore nipples are much better…
Again thanks for all your messages I truly love to hear from you…

THE PROUD MUM AND HER LITTER OF CUTE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
POOR little Millie the Goldendoodle has a nasty case of mastitis…
It all happened so quickly…
One minute she was feeding happily and the next she became quite poorly…
She had a high temperature and became very “spacey…”
She simply couldn’t lie down – but still allowed the puppies to feed by sitting upright…
A quick examination showed one of her teats was swollen and inflamed…
Luckily the pups had fed well – were sleeping soundly and we rushed Millie to the vets…
He was fantastic and agreed it was indeed mastitis…
He gave her two injections (both safe for the puppy milk) – antibiotic and a pain killer…
Within minutes Millie was much happier…
Infact she pulled us out of the surgery to the car – such was her haste to get home !!!
CHECKING MILLIE IS NOT IN TOO MUCH DISCOMFORT WHILST NURSING HER PUPPIES
On her return she immediately checked on the babies…
Before lying down gingerly and falling asleep for a good 3/4 of an hour…
It was the longest sleep she’s had since the puppies were born…
Once awake I checked her sore teat again and gently massaged it with olive oil…
In fact I gave all of her nipples a good gentle clean…
Millie seemed to really enjoy the close attention and lay happily on her back…
The swelling had gone down considerably and Millie was more than happy to return to her whelping box…
The puppies on the other hand seemed none to concerned at mums return !!!
They had all curled up together and were all snoring in a deep contended full belly sleep…
Millie was a little miffed and eventually began licking and nosing them to wake.,..
It was a great relief to us all that the puppies immediately “latched on” and fed happily…
The vet had recommended we allowed the pups to suckle the swollen teat…
This would both gauge Millie’s pain level – and of course help bring down the inflammation…
We rotated the aggressive and gentle feeders and was delighted to see Millie showed no discomfort…
“PINKY” ONE OF THE MORE GENTLE PUPPIES HELPING TO NURSE HER MUM
The great news is Millie stayed with the puppies all night…
And I can assure you all they have gorged themselves on her milk !!!
My partner stayed with them and says it was the most peaceful night they’ve had…
I managed to sleep a little longer despite my concerns…
As soon as I came down this morning I coaxed Millie on her back to check her nipples…
I am so relieved to say the swelling has almost completely gone !!!
I have weighed all the puppies and am delighted to say they have all gained weight considerably…
They are all feisty squeaky and none the worse for yesterdays dramas…
And as you can see all happy content and coming on amazingly well…

Millie and me are off to the vets this morning for a quick check up…
I’ll let you know how it goes – but pretty sure everything is more than OK !!!
Put it this was I’m a lot happier taking her today than I was yesterday !!!

SAY HELLO TO NINE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
TWO days old and all putting on weight and making a right racket !!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of newborn Goldendoodle puppies…
The good news is Millie took a break for a few precious moments last night…
She ran and rolled around the garden before having her first bowel movement in days !!!
I think the relief of that was a good as giving birth ha ha !!!
Please excuse the quality of the individual goldendoodle puppy photos…
We didn’t want to stress them or Millie – so were snapped very quickly after being weighed…
TAKEN MOMENTS AGO MILLIE FEEDING HER GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
There is one strange thing to add – involving of all things – a football !!!
My partner trod on it in the garden and it squeaked…
Millie ran outside – grabbed it and took it into her whelping box…
She immediately began nuzzling and licking it…
I was alarmed at first – as Millie showed some distress…
But all is well now and the squeaky ball is right where she can see it !!!
OK that’ll do for today’s update…
Mum and her pups are doing more than fine…

MILLIE ADOPTS A UNIQUE FEEDING POSITION HA HA !!!
24 HOURS OLD GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES AND MILLIE
WHAT an incredible emotional and moving 24 hours we’ve all had – none more so than Millie !!!
What an absolute dream mum Millie is !!!
OK the best thing to do is start at the beginning…
I spoke to a lot of you on the phone yesterday…
And I guess you could see how excited I was – very wired and high ha ha…
OK – around 4pm on Monday evening Millie began the first stages of labour…
She was restless and panting and anxious…
She eventually settled in her whelping box around midnight…
MILLIE SETTLES IN HER COMFORTABLE WHELPING BOX
I stayed on the sofa next to her and had to let her out a couple of times for the call of nature…
Otherwise she slept reasonably well until 4am…
My partner came down to give me a break – but I couldn’t sleep !!!
MILLIE AND HER DADDY
By 10am Millie was pacing more often…
She sat next to my partner on the floor and her tummy suddenly contracted four times…
She jumped up with alarm as her waters broke…
As if by magic she ran to her whelping box and began pushing…
Within a few minutes the first puppy was born…
My heart skipped a beat as I wondered how Millie would take to this…
I needn’t have worried – we helped her clear the little girls mouth – who let out an almighty squawk !!!
Millie was absolutely fantastic – she instinctively ate the placentae leaving a perfect little strand left…
Within 13 minutes Millie was pushing again !!!
Another little Goldendoodle girl puppy arrived in the world and again letting out an almighty squeak !!!
AND THEN THERE WERE TWO GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES !!!
The next three came at 10 minute intervals and we began wondering just how many were in there lol…
The scan had shown us at least 5…
Within a few minutes the sixth arrived…
This time he came out tail first with one leg showing…
Despite Millie’s pushing he would not budge…
We managed to calm her down and get a little traction and with on last push out he popped…
He was a little listless but a good licking from mum and he coughed out some mucus and was fine…
In fact he’s become a right noisy little puppy !!!
NINE PERFECT MINUTES OLD GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
After nine we were hoping that really was it – after all Millie only has nine nipples !!!
We waited and watched as mum cleaned and loved her litter…
After an hour we decided that was indeed it and gave them a little privacy (watching from a distance)…
Millie was incredible – none stop cleaning nudging and positioning the little pups where she wanted them…
We offered her some water and she gulped it down bless her – thirsty work indeed…
After 3 hours she sat up – it was a sight to see nine little doodles dropping off her lol…
She ran to the patio doors – raced outside and had the longest wee in history…
She immediately flew back to her Goldendoodle puppies and organized them where she wanted…
What an absolute star she is!!!
NINE NIPPLES AND NINE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES !!!
For the next three hours mum and the puppies bonded and slept on and off…
Millie was exhausted but still woke immediately she heard one of them cry…
By 8 pm we felt it was the right time to clean the whelping box…
Millie was a little nervous about getting out – but we placed the puppies in a snug box where she could see them…
She even enjoyed a sponge down with warm water…
Once the bed was clean and snug mum and pups settled down for the night…
I decided to stay on the sofa near them over night – but not interfere…
I’d love to say Millie and me had a unbroken nights sleep – but with nine little pups hardly !!!
The short video shows mum and her pups first thing this morning – so happy and contented…
And what beautiful colours they all are – my partner calls them the Spice Girls ha ha…
THE SPICE GIRLS AND BOYS CUTE DAY OLD GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES
Being a former nurse I just HAVE to weigh and monitor my charges lol…
So I’m adding completely safe paper colour coded collars and weighing the pups daily !!!
I shall keep you all informed of their progress so stay tuned !!!
I really should be tired – but this has been such an amazing experience I’m wide awake !!!
I am so proud of our little girl it’s untrue – she has been and is being simple amazing…
We are blessed with Millie and I know her puppies are going to make people so very happy…

THREE WEEKS TO GO UNTIL MILLIE GIVES BIRTH TO GOLDENDOODLE PUPPIES!!!
Just a quick update on Millie the Goldendoodle’s pregnancy…
We have received tons of enquiries for one of her puppies…
And I have spoken to everyone so far…
It’s been a pleasure to meet so many lovely kind real “dog people” lol…
And so far everyone has the most perfect loving home to offer…
So a big thank you from me and a loving lick from Millie…
Those of you who have now met her know she really does love to lick you haha…
She has always been a loving gentle cuddly dog…
She is what we call a “floopy little girl” haha…
As in soft – gentle – loving and very much in cuddles…
Being in pup has made it more so – and I have to say I love cuddling her…
That’s the beauty of the Goldendoodle breed…
They are mad as hatters and nuts to play with…
They love long walks – free runs and playing…
GOLDENDOODLES LOVE EXERCISE!!! (taken moments after mating Millie the Goldendoodle)
However they’re just as happy lying on their backs snoring…
MILLIE THE GOLDENDOODLE SNORING
A proper mix of boundless energy and couch potato haha…
Millie the Goldendoodle is now a little over three weeks away for giving birth to her litter…
To say I’m nervous and excited is an understatement…
We’ve decided on the dining room as the “nursery”…
It’s warm and quiet and plenty of space…
I have got a whelping kit – complete with stethoscope lol…
Plenty of newspapers – absorbent puppy pads and blankets…
Millie is in great health and everything looks good for the big day…
The vet would not tell us how many pups she was expecting…
But the list of people wanting one of Millie’s puppies is growing…
Part of me feels awful for those at the end of the queue…
But Mother Nature will decide how many Goldendoodle puppies Millie has…
And there’s not much more I can do about that haha…
Thanks again to all who have contacted me – it really has been a pleasure getting to know you…
And I truly hope you are one of the lucky ones…:)

And as for Millie herself…
She’s in great spirits and even manages a token “play every now and then…”
SO MANY TOYS FOR A GOLDENDOODLE TO PLAY WITH BUT OH SO TIRING
But we mums know only too well just how tiring pregnancy can be lol…
We have began increasing her food a little…
However the little minx will not eat her kibble…
This is worrying as she needs the nutrients…
However my partner had a brainwave – not that he has many haha…
Millie absolutely adores tripe sticks – uggh the smell…
So he actually grated tripe stick shavings into her kibble!!!
She of course wolfed them down haha…
OK that’ll do for now – I’m off to give Millie a shower and blow dry…
