There’s No Business Like Snow Business

The Sky’s Falling!!!

The first snows of the winter…

And little Millie the Goldendoodle loved it!!!

With just a little bit of hesitation I have to say…

But pretty soon she was jumping up trying to catch every single snowflake!!!

And she actually got a little upset when we called her in…

Not a lot of snow for some of you…

But here in England it was a real novelty…

It’s So Cold Even My Eyes Are Blue!!!

Do I HAVE To Come In???!!!

Millie has grown so much the fight play has become a little bit of an issue…

And we’ve certainly had to calm her down a little as she can get quite mouthy – as in biting…

The vet and searches online have shown us the way to act with this biting…

It seems to work except just before her bedtime…

When like a grumpy toddler she gets over excited and extremely boistrous…

We fold our arms as instructed and completely ignore her…

Sometimes it works – but mostly she jumps and bites harder…

It’s obviously play and fun to her – but those teeth are like needles!!!

Persistent and consistent is the order of the day…

BIG NEWS!!!

Millie had her first walk a couple of days ago!!!

I’ll pop some photos up later…

But I have to say the lead training prior to the big day paid off…

She was very well behaved…

However she is absolutely terrified of cars – puschairs and cycles!!!

We are taking it slowly and not fussing her too much when a car goes by…

After all it’s a big scary world out there…

5 minutes into the first walk she came face to face with two of the biggest Golden Retrievers!!!

She immediately sought refuge in my arms but was quickly introduced to them…

They were a young dopey crazy pair of boys…

Who sniffed headbutted and generally roughed her up a bit…

Far from her initial reaction Millie soon began jumping on them and yapping!!!

She’s made her first mates and now reacts with glee at the sight of her bright red lead…

We just got back from our morning stroll…

She met her mates but is still petrified of cars…

I hope this doesn’t last much longer as tough love is something I’m not so good at!!!

Millie Digs The Garden

Me Dirty..? Naw…

So little Goldendoodle puppy Millie digs our new house – LITERALLY!!!

What a fantastic little pup she’s been amidst all the chaos of the house move …

She’s handled it like a little star but got a little upset when she saw the removal guys…

They were absolutely HUGE and to a little Goldendoodle puppy it was a long way to go for a cuddle!!!

As you can see the new larger garden certainly meets to her approval…

The previous owners had emptied all their garden pots into the flower beds…

As so as Mille was let outside to “busy busy” she made a beeline for the manure…

And dived head first into it – we were laughing too much to tell her off…

And the look on her face afterwards – as you can see – was pure comedy!!!

Goldendoodles Find Flowers Delicious

Speaking of gardens – we think we have some work to do with her if our garden will survive…

She gambols outside sniffs the air and studies each bud as we would a menu…

Before chomping as fast as she can on the late Autumns blooms…

NOT GOOD!!! But it sure makes for great photos!!!

However the after effects – as in windy gas – sure makes the evenings aromatic…

And we can certainly see little Goldendoodle puppy Millie is getting bolder as she grows…

Now the stairs have become one of her favourite places for “adventures…”

Going up is pretty easy as she skips quite happily…

Hits the landing then sits patiently outside my youngest son’s room…

However if there’s only myself and Millie in the house she tends to “sneak” up there…

I spot her mid flight and call her back – normally superb on recall – the stairs is a different matter…

She eyes me with an aloof haughty look as if to say “ok mum what ya gonna do about it…”

After two or three “Millie come…” she tends to bark yap and tail wag…

It takes a lot of self control not to laugh…

Coming down worries me but not her!!!

With her cute little ass up in the air and her nose to the stairs she bounds down…

Worrying for me but fun for her – reminder to me another stairgate to be bought!!!

Gardening Exploring House Moves and Vets Are Exhausting

Yesterday was Millie’s second trip to the vets…

We couldn’t wait to weigh her after the vets concern at her arrival weight…

The little porker has almost doubled her weight!!!

Phew were we worried and half expected the vet to say she was overweight!!!

She absolutely adores the vet probably more for the treats she give her – but that is great news!!!

One week to go before our Goldendoodle pup Millie can brave the outside world…

I guess it’s time we began the lead training in earnest…

Somehow I think this is gonna be fun!!!

Well what a week that was…

What an absolutely fantastic week with little Millie…

We’ve never known such a bright as a button puppy in our life…

Goldendoodles sure are smart little guys…

The house training is a complete breeze…

One accident and that was our fault (long story!)…

The cry of “busy! busy!” is all our little lady needs…

She rushes to the door – finds her favourite spot and bingo!

The week has passed so very quickly and she’s such a part of our lives…

We kind of wonder what we ever did before Millie the Goldendoodle arrived…

The safe backgarden is her haunt…

And with the recent lovely late Autumnal weather – she’s in her element…

We read somewhere that Goldendoodles adore digging…

My goodness this little lady can dig for Britain! Australia here we come haha!

We think when we move to the new house a sandpit of some sort is in order…

We would like to save a bit of the garden for us mere humans…

MILLIE DIGS THE GARDEN LITERALLY!!!

She has also had her first ever trip to the vet…

We were a little concerned as new parents always are around these things…

This little bombproof madam took it all in her tiny stride…

Prodded and poked – weighed and measured…

Nothing seemed to phase her – not even the jab or chip being shot in!!!

If anything she was more interested in the treats the vet had for her…

Looks like we might have to change her food pretty soon!

As we left and made to drive away I spotted a full grown Goldendoodle!

Talk about coincidence!

The owner was delighted to meet us and the big boy in question stuck his head through the car window…

Millie wriggled wagged and yapped!!!

Not long until she’s that big…

But for now she’s our darling baby girl…

She’s funny cute feisty and clever as hell…

As the vet said – “I think you’re going to have to find things for this girl to do…

…she’s very very smart…”

Anyone looking for the perfect dog could do no worse than a Goldendoodle!!!

Oh my GOD!!!
She’s here and as you can see WOW!!!
What an absolute cutie pie…

A six hour round trip and worth every single yard!!!
She settled quite beautifully in the car…
As if she’d been driving all her life…

Then as we pulled up outside the house…
She vomited all over my son haha…
Memo to me new jeans for my boy haha…
Bless her though she was a complete angel…

A friend of mine had told me about how Guide Dogs are toilet trained…
So as soon as we got her inside it was “Busy Busy…”
Out into the garden and one long long wee and number two later…
Millie was praised to the hilt!!!

She has taken to this like a duck to water…
After sleeps – play – feeding and big drinks…
“Busy Busy” is the cry and out Millie trots!!!
Brilliant and perfect puppy house training in my book!!!

She quickly established her place for her shiny new bed…
Dragged the carefully folded bedding out…
Dragged it across the kitchen and into the conservatory…

The cuddly toy she had taken to was her next mission…
This delightul darling of a dog dragged it to her own made bed…
She nuzzled it chewed it then completely sparked out…
It had been one long adventure…
And one very tough day for one so little…
I have to say her snores were pure poetry…

As soon as she awoke it was “Busy Busy!!!”
Again she tumbled outside with glee and did the “business…”
Wow this really works!!!
She played and played and played until dinner time…
Had a couple of faceoffs with the cat…
But more or less ignored her…
Pretty sure those two are gonna be friends…

Her first dinnertime with us arrived…
And we were amazed at her manners!!!
Delicately taking each piece she would chew contentedly…
Swallow politely and lap gently at her water…
All that was missing was a napkin – such a lady…

Bedtime – for us anyway – came all too soon…
It was tough but we set up the stairgate…
Made her comfortable and stepped away…
Despite her tiring exciting day…
Boy did she get cross with us…

He barks yelps and crying almost broke our hearts…
But we stood firm and after a token ten minutes…
She dropped off to a peaceful and deep deep sleep…

Wow what a day what a delight and what a dog!!!

Stay tuned – this is can only get better!!!
