Here’s the gallery of the fantastic ‘doodle meet we had last Saturday…
As you can see it was a great turn out and the ‘doodles had a whale of a time…
I’m pretty sure they all ran themselves ragged…
I know Millie and Wally slept the sleep of the just on our return home…
There’s another meet up on December 29th at Coombe Abbey near Coventry…
We usually meet between 10:45 and 11:00am so please come along…

CRAZY WALLY THE GOLDENDOODLE COOLS OFF

WE had a fantastic day out with the gorgeous Murphy and his family last week…

That boy really is a stunning Goldendoodle and I’m pleased to say Wally and him hit it off famously !!!

It was a long drive for our two ‘doods ~ a country park near Huntingdon…

(oops forgot the name lol) ~ but they were certainly ready to go on our arrival !!!

Murphy did his usual greet everyone enthusiastically…

And then half an hour later did a classic double take and realised it was his granddad and jumped into his arms !!!

Such was his enthusiasm he left poor Neil with a scratch to his face and sore back lol…

MILLIE AND WALLY EXPLORING THE DEVON COUNTRYSIDE

The ‘doods really did do Devon lol and what a fantastic time we all had…

From long walks on bridle paths – splashing about in the sea – and ‘doodle dashing everywhere…

And even very scary smugglers tunnels!

LEADING THE WAY TO THE PUB AFTER A DOODLE DASH ON THE NESS BEACH

Wally really came out of his shell and Millie was her usual laid back princess haha…

We even managed to get them both on tiny ferries from Instow to Appledore and Shaldon to Teignmouth!

And how very well behaved – and brave – they were – proper salty sea dogs!

We stayed at a real dog friendly cottage called the Old Dairy – highly recommended and 100% dog friendly indeed…

There was even a dog agility course right on our doorstep – but sadly neither Millie or Wally felt up to the challenge!

Instead they managed to cause a stir wherever they went with quite literally hoards of people stopping to fuss them…

Wally – who until now has been reserved around strangers – took it all in his stride and even seemed to enjoy all the fuss!

But it was on the beach the boy came into his own and it was hard getting him out of the sea such was his enjoyment lol…

Every night back at the cottage Wally would still be raring to go – the boy has energy!

However Princess Millie took to her sofa in the conservatory and snoozed…

Well a lady does need her beauty sleep haha…

FOR MILLIE A SOFA IS TOTAL BLISS!

As you can see the humans and the ‘doods had a fab time and found tons of dog friendly places to go…

I can highly recommend the GOOD DOG GUIDE – it certainly helped us find great places to eat – drink and visit…

Sadly we’re back home and both Goldendoodles although tired seem to think we can magic a beach out of thin air!

The last few walks have been slightly low key as they look at us expectantly – “where’s the beach?”

Hopefully we’ll get them to one in a couple of weeks time all being well

But oh boy do I miss this view all ready!

THIRSTY AT TREBARWITH STRAND

Just to let you know Millie was 3 on Sunday (Aug14th) – wow how time flies!

It seems like only yesterday we began this blog with a month wait before we could collect her!

I can honestly say choosing Goldendoodles as our pet dogs was the best move we ever made…

They’re funny – loving – clever-ish (well Wally is sort of getting there lol) and more than a little crazy!

And judging from the amazing reactions from people we met – they’re show stopping superstars!

OK I need to feed the ‘doods so I’ll love and leave you until next time…

MILLIE AND WALLY GREAT GOLDENDOODLE MATES


WALLY the Goldendoodle is growing at an alarming rate of knots!!!

As you can see at 16 weeks he’s almost as big as Millie…

The boy is going to be huge – just what we wanted…

And the fantastic news is Millie absolutely utterly adores him…

They really are great friends are hardly ever apart…

Unless of course her best mate Biddy the Labradoodle is about !!!

Wally has been a little timid and very nervous around people…

This is in complete contrast to Millie who loves people to pieces lol…

We had a funeral to attend last week and we left the dogs with Paddy ~ Lynn and Biddy…

Wally was a little nervous by it all – but we know the more new people the better…

So at last weekend’s Midlands ‘Doodle Meet – we were a little worried how the little chap would take it…

MURPHY AND LULU THE GOLDENDOODLES SWIMMING WITH MUM !!!

Two of Millie’s pups were there – the magnificent Murphy and lovely (but loopy) Lulu….

And they made a great fuss of us as we arrived which really was lovely…

As expected Wally despite his size and bravado in the house – was a little stunned by all the people and ‘doods…

MILLIE’S HALF SISTER MAISIE SAYS HELLO IN DOODLE STYLE TO WALLY


Being the baby of the bunch everyone wanted to say hello and fuss him to pieces…

But knowing how nervous of people he was everyone was given little treats to coax him to them…

Everyone was fantastic and very gentle and Wally quickly relaxed and strained at the lead to run free…

It was his first run with a pack and boy did he love it !!!

Of course Millie led the way with Biddy close on her heels…

It’s my favourite part of the any ‘doodle meet – letting them all free from their leads…

And at Coombe Abby the dogs have a super free run…

We let them loose in a lovely wood that leads to a huge open area – and boy do they charge up that hill…

THAT’S ME ON MY BOTTOM AFTER A PACK OF ‘DOODLES CRASHED INTO ME LOL

And yes I still have the bruise from my tumble lol…

From their we head through beautiful wooded pathways edged by ditches…

At this time of the year they are filthy filled with stinking gloopy mud…

And yes you guessed it the ‘doodles absolutely love it…

Within 10 minutes we had a pack of very muddy ‘doodles – except Wally he seemed bemused by it all !!!

A VERY MUDDY LULU (WHO ELSE COULD IT BE LOL)

Millie had a fantastic time – as did all the ‘doods – and both of our ‘doods came home absolutely worn out…

The meeting did Wally the power of good – he’d never seen so many dogs and people…

I’m pleased and proud of how he handled himself…

Whilst he’s still a little nervous around strangers he’s coming out of his shell…



I’ve taken him to two puppy classes now and progress is good…

He handled his first trip into the town centre very well and my initial concerns are now gone…

I just think he’s going to be an easy going laid back dood around people – so unlike Millie !!!

OK that’ll do for now but just to say Neil has a new site you might want to have a look at…

Ok just to say Wally’s training is coming on very well…

Sit – Wait and Down are all commands he follows and follows well…

Millie has of course helped in this by showing him how to do things for treats !!!

One thing he has mastered and much better than Millie is the “High Five”…

WALLY THE F1B GOLDENDOODLE PUPPY

WALLY has grown so much in his first two weeks with us it’s untrue…

And as you can see he’s growing into a gorgeous young ‘doodle…

There’s little doubt he’s going to be huge and very very strong…

And that is the main reason I am taking the lead in his training…

As he gets bigger and stronger I will need him to respect me for his and my good lol…

He will be able to go for his first walk outdoors next week – should be fun lol…

And the week after I’m going to take him to puppy classes – watch this space!!!

Millie didn’t do puppy classes as Neil took charge…

She’s such a well mannered and well behaved dog because we – Neil in particular – was very strict with her as puppy…

I used to worry we were maybe a little too hard – but oh boy has she turned out well…

MILLIE SHOWS WALLY HOW TO WAIT

Now to our Wally – and oh dear do we have some “issues” to sort out…

None more so than his behaviour at night – or come to that when left alone or I leave him – even for a few minutes…

I have known dogs that whine and bark when left alone – and regulars will remember Millie’s pup “Dave…”

Boy did that little ‘dood howl at night lol…

But with Wally it borders on hysteria…



WALLY THE GOLDENDOODLE PUPPY LOOKING CALM BEFORE THE STORM LOL


He cannot be left alone for even a moment without his almost manic behaviour appearing…

If I leave he throws himself around the house wailing and with much gnashing of teeth…

He cries whines barks and generally works himself up into such a state…

It’s even worse at night – last night it was 45 minutes before I had to comfort him…

I’m not joking when he say HYSTERICAL…

Neil has tried – just once – his tried and tested “pack leader” approach – but Wally became absolutely petfrified…

He yelped shook cowered and hid from Neil despite him holding out his fave treat…

It took half a day for Wally to even relax in a room with Neil…

I felt for them both lol…

So it’s going to have to be the long steady gradual way with Wally…

That means a heck of a lot of work – but I’m sure it will be rewarded in the end…

Now where did I put the Dog Whisperer book haha…

God bless her Millie is doing more than any of us to settle the little chap…

She really is a star and he and she adore each other…

It’s not all bad – Wally is a gorgeous Goldendoodle – funny cute and very loving…

And we all absolutely adore him – but for his sake and our sanity we have to crack this lol…

And just a quick mention to a very clever Goldendoodle Doodle-Lu…

She was giving birth to her first litter the other night…

Mum was a little worried about things but luckily I was on line and able to take on the role of Cyber Midwife lol…

I’m pleased and proud to say mum and pups are doing great…

WHERE’S WALLY..? HERE’S WALLY!!!

Yes I have gone and done it…

Got myself a new ‘doodle lol…

Say hello to Wally a strapping 12 week old Goldendoodle puppy…

I’m delighted to say Millie absolutely adores him…

Bless her heart she hasn’t left his side since he arrived 2 days ago…

OK here’s the story of Wally and me…

Neil and I had gone away for the weekend as it was my birthday…

We were in Liverpool to visit my eldest son and do the whole “Beatles thing”…

I’d spotted “Wally” on line and had fell in love immediately…

I mentioned it to Neil and he kind of shrugged lol…

After plying him with a few beers at the Albert Dock I suggested we got him…

What could he do but agree lol…

So the next day at the crack of dawn – and a bad hangover for Neil lol – we set off…

That’s a drive from Liverpool to deep into the fens of Lincolnshire – a very long drive…

Long story short we both fell and love and before we knew it he was home…

The first night Millie was staying with Biddy – Paddy and Lynn…

So we hoped he would settle easily and quite quickly after such a tiring day…

We were both absolutely knackered lol…

Wally made it quite clear he was not happy about sleeping alone…

He actually screamed – and I mean – screamed the place down…

I tried to ignore it but he’d had such a day I settled on the sofa and he thankfully slept through…

So to the grand introduction…

Wally was very stand offish – and not at all sure about his new surroundings…

However as soon as Millie appeared this scared shaking little chap went into “doodle mode” big time…



As you can see Millie was a little bemused by this little noisy upstart…

But soon took charge and gently put him in his place…




MILLIE AND WALLY FRIENDS FOR LIFE ALL READY

As I said – since then she hasn’t left his side…

They play so very well together and he follows her around copying all she does…

He has really taken to me but was a little unsure about Neil at first…

But thanks to Millie showing the way he’s now coming out of his shell a bit…

So there you have it – a new dood to my brood…

Could it be the last…haha…

I have two weeks off work so plenty of time to get to know him and him me…

And plenty of time to update you all with the news and photos…

I have a ton of photographs from the last two ‘Doodle Meets…
